Newsletter: tech therapy
Every week, we interview executives in charge of their organization's tech stacks.
A while back, we heard about some negative aspects to a CDP they're evaluating, some skepticism on adding new tech to their stack, and using Alium as a form of tech stack therapy.
What they dislike about one of the CDPs they're evaluating:
"On the negative side, [CDP Vendor] is an enterprise tool. It looks like it's an enterprise tool. And what I mean by that. It's not always the most friendly to use and how they're pricing and structure and all that stuff. It could come back a bit pricey too. "

Why they're hesitant to keep adding new tech to their stack:
"We probably have too much tech. I'm always a fan of sending my team to conferences, but then I hate when they come back and they're like, 'Hey, I met this vendor. I met this vendor. I met this vendor,' because it's all good tech, I get that. But then also you have to manage the P&L appropriately, because it all costs something."

Why speaking with Alium feels like tech-therapy:
“We are RFPing currently for CRM specifically. We're also actually RFPing creative agency, just to ensure that we have the best in class in that situation. And then we just finished an RFP for CMS... Yeah, wow, just talking about all this is really like therapy.”
